Salt cell panel PCB error

Goldline Salt Cell Panel Repair

Goldline Salt Cell Panel Repair Service

Our repair service department received a call from a customer in Cypress Texas. The customer stated that their salt water swimming pool was turning a greenish color. We scheduled a service call to inspect the pool and equipment where we found that the system panel was showing an “PCB” error code. Moreover, all the indicator lights were on solid, in effect signalling that something was surely wrong. After checking the pools chemicals, it was found that the chlorine level was zero. However, the salt level in the pool was in range at 3100 ppm. This supported the assumption that the Goldline salt cell system was not working.

After several attempts to reset the board, there was no change in status. As a result, our service repair technician concluded that the board was in fact bad as indicated by the error code. Consequently this meant that the PCB board needed to be replaced.

We discussed our findings with the customer and our offer was accepted to make the repair. We ordered the parts and the repair will be made within two days.

To help stabilize the pool, we added liquid chlorine to the pool to help clear up the water. This in turn will hold the pools water over for a couple days until the repair can be completed. The salt cell will then need to run in super chlorinate mode for 24 hours. This will allow the system to generate enough chlorine for proper sanitizing.
