In-floor Cleaning System Repair
In-floor cleaning systems like the Paramount (Hayward) PC 2000 are great in keeping your pool looking clean and blue. When you start to see debris staying around in the bottom of the pool, that’s a good sign that you need an In-floor Cleaning System Repair.
Today we received a call from a customer requesting a service call pertaining to their automatic pool cleaning system. The Paramount in-floor cleaning system keeps your pool free from dirt and debris without virtually any intervention on the pool owners part. Another great benefit to the in-floor system is it’s ability to provide great circulation of the water from the pools bottom to the surface and back again.
The in-floor system in comparison with a pressure side system offered by Polaris that uses a small cleaner that runs around the pool picking up debris are many times worlds apart. The pressure side system needs the bag emptied weekly or even more often depending on your pool. The cleaner itself is more prone to repairs and obviously needs human interaction to keep it running every week.
Paramount PC 2000 Module Repair
The in-floor system module is the brains of the system. It consist of many ports that open and close allowing water to flow down return lines to the pool, that in turn open the popup cleaning heads in different zones.
It’s important to note when the system is not working correctly, dirt and debris will build up on the bottom of the pools floor. Conversely, there can be noticeable hot or cold areas in the pool due to poor water circulation. In this case, our technician inspected and found a broken 6-port module.
As shown in the picture to the left, the valves were no longer seated in their place. As a result, water was diverted across many zones resulting in a loss of water pressure. This loss of pressure prevented the in-floor heads from working as they should.
A new module was quoted for replacement, to remedy the problem. Next, the in-floor cleaning system repair was completed. This allowed the system to work like new again, keeping the pool clean and blue.
PCC 2000 In-floor System Maintenance
To keep this system running at its peak. The Woodlands Pool Repair Service can perform once-a-year maintenance for the in-floor cleaning system to clear out the supply lines. Even small amounts of dirt can potentially clog the small orifice of the pop-up heads not allowing for the proper stream of water to exit the zone. This build-up is eliminated by removing all the in-floor heads and turning on the system to flush out any accumulated dirt in the lines. The head is replaced and the cleaning system is tested to ensure all the zones are working correctly.
